The Motel One Barcelona-Ciutadella was perfect for our short city trip. Our accessible room was spacious with a modern and fresh furnishing. The bathroom had plenty of room to manoeuver with a wheelchair including a wheel-in shower. Only the location of the room wasn't ideal. Located close to the lift it was noisy during the night and in the morning. Who needs sleep anyway?
After three exciting days in Warsaw we were looking forward to a little bit of calmness in Gdansk and that is exactly what we got there. It had stopped raining but the streets were still empty. Gdansk is much smaller than Warsaw and has a lot of uneven sidewalks with cobblestones and potholes. Challenging but still manageable with the wheelchair and charming for sure!
We just had to cross the street to get to one of my Warsaw highlights: The Palace of Culture and Science. This high-rise building was built in the 1950's in the style of Stalinist architecture. It is huge and massive and grey. You definitely can't ignore it.
