Our Tokyo days were numbered and my friend and me decided to spend our last day in Japan separately. He wanted to go back to Nakano Broadway, I wanted to see LaQua, an amusement park on top of a mall.

Thanks to the station guards at the different train stations I felt safe, knowing they would help me get on and off the train. I left the hotel, thrilled by the thought of being on my own in one of the world's biggest cities. After I arrived at the Tokyo Dome I had a steamed bun filled with red bean paste for breakfast.

Then I explored LaQua and the mall, did some some souvenir shopping at Don Quijote, the famous Japanese discount store.

Afterwards I took a train to Ginza to do some clothes shopping. One last evening, one last Tonkatsu and there came our departure.

A smooth Japan Airlines flight brought us back to Europe.

That was about it. Our Japan adventure was over. Would I go back to Japan again? Visiting this fascinating country was an eye-opener for me. When it comes to accessibility but also and much more important when it comes to helpfulness. Never have I met more friendly people. Never was my disability and the handling of it so 'usual'.

I miss the land of vending machines for everything and anything!

I miss clean accessible restrooms with warmed toilet seats, miss a perfectly functioning public transport system.

I miss delicious Japanese food that is more than 'just sushi' and I miss the Japanese people, that met me on an equal footing. Do I want to go back to Japan in the future? Yes, immediately please!
